Adobe Photoshop CC Level 1 (Basic) focuses on some of the basic features of Photoshop so that the student can navigate the environment and use Photoshop tools to work with photographic images. In addition, the orientation to Adobe Bridge and organization of files in Bridge is covered. Although Photoshop is used by a variety of professionals, from photographers to designers to videographers, Photoshop Level 1 (Basic) will focus mainly on the photography component. The illustration and animation techniques are covered in subsequent levels of Photoshop.

This course will prepare you to use the most common basic features of Adobe Photoshop CC. In this course, you will:

You will understand and use the various elements in the Photoshop CS5 interface so as to efficiently work with the software. You will use the different tools in Photoshop for selecting parts of images and identify the need for having layers in a Photoshop document. You will also organize the different components of the design as layers. With the layered Photoshop document thus created, you will apply layer effects and other special effects in order to enhance the appearance of the design. Once the design is finalized, you will save images in both print and web formats.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
